This week in English, children enjoyed writing sentences to describe where they would love to cycle, sail, or fly to in the world and why.
We have continued to consolidate our knowledge of capacity and mass in maths, through practical exploration in our discovery space.
Each class has taken on their own project including sketching and 3D models of bikes, planes and boats, which inspires us ahead of next term’s topic of Continents!
We have discussed what makes a healthy meal, focusing on the different food groups and what to eat to stay healthy.
Children have updated their personal history timeline, comparing their years as a toddler to how they have since changed.
Reading books, talk time and writing will resume after the Spring Break. Please continue reading to your child and encourage them to join in with you each day. Should you wish to do writing, you could try a holiday diary with a sentence a day.
The below app helps children build greater number confidence and fluency. It’s all about targeted practice in engaging, one-minute chunks!
Use this link to access Maths Passport. In the PO you will find which country your child should be working on. We will assess children on these passports regularly.
When you have done this each week with your child, please make a note in your child’s PO.
Please keep reading at home, and sign in the P.O. every day so your child continues to make great progress in reading.
Please can you send in any cardboard junk such as cardboard egg cartons, cereal boxes, toilet rolls etc, for our first week back at school in Term 3. Please try not to send plastic things as this is harder for the children to use.
These will start on the first day of term, on Sunday 19 April, and run until Thursday 25 June 2026.
Primary students will take part in a variety of activities on the day and will also have the opportunity to purchase food and goods at a special sale. All funds raised will go to BSM’s chosen charities for this year.
We encourage students to wear clothing that represents their country (or countries) or the colours of their national flag(s) on the day.
Please send your child into school with some money for purchases:
KS1 are allowed to bring up to OMR 3
Parents are also welcome to join us in the sports halls from 2-4pm. (During the day access to the school will be restricted to only those parents running a stall)
See general notices for details
We have noticed an increase in students wearing their own trainers to school so please remember that on school days, black footwear (shoes or trainers) should be worn. Long hair should also be tied up. Stud earrings can be worn, but bracelets, necklaces and other earrings must not be worn to school.
If a child is wearing a religious necklace please inform us via the Primary Office for approval. If approved, ensure it is tucked into shirts for health and safety reasons.
Please pack healthy lunches for your children, and note that we have nut allergies in the year group so no snacks should be sent containing nuts.

Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:
Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.
Please see our Swimwear Guidelines on the website.
Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.
We have created WhatsApp groups for parents to know about urgent messages or reminders. Email will continue to be the main form of communication. Please see our BSM WhatsApp Groups Document for all the links. Please read the code of conduct carefully before joining any BSM WhatsApp groups.
