Parents and families of performers are warmly invited to join us for this short concert as we celebrate the end of another wonderful term of music making. Performances will feature our Junior, Senior and Chamber Choirs, as well as our Big Band and Wind Band.
Students should be in smart school uniform and will need to be in the Oryx Theatre by 5:15pm at the latest. The concert will begin at 6:00pm and finish just before 7:00pm.
Thank you for your amazing support and resilience during this move to online learning.
Dear Parents,
We have received a message from the Ministry of Education this afternoon advising us that all learning should take place online from Tuesday 24 March, until and including Thursday 26 March 2026. This is due to the bad weather forecast and heavy rain expected in Muscat.
Primary School students should log into their Google Classroom at 7:30am for registration. Class teachers will then explain to the students what activities they will be completing across the day.
Senior School students should log into the Google Classroom which is relevant for each lesson of the day. Instructions for all students will be posted in their Google Classrooms.
Opportunities will be provided for students, where appropriate, to interact and connect with their teachers virtually through live Google Meets during lessons. Teachers will plan activities which will be placed within the relevant Google Classrooms.
Expectations of students during Google Meets
Be punctual
Be prepared with any required resources
Be dressed appropriately for learning
Cameras should be left on unless instructed otherwise by the teacher
Microphones should be kept on mute unless offering input
No recording or photographing of other students within the Meet
Behave in a manner which respects your teacher and peers
Unless told otherwise, wait to begin the task at the allocated lesson time
For parents of students in FS - Year 3 who don't often use Google Classroom, or anyone who is having difficulties accessing their Google Meet, please see this simple guide.
If any students have difficulties accessing their Google Classroom, please do not worry, just let the Primary or Senior school office know via email when you are able to. Similarly, please be aware that there may be gaps in our provision if staff are dealing with floods or internet outages.
Please note:
All ECAs and activities (including Marlins) due to take place on the school site are cancelled.
The Cultural Fair will be postponed
The Spring Concert will be postponed
The Y10 Online Parents Evening will go ahead online as planned
Our BSM community’s safety is our highest priority and we urge all our families to follow the latest updates and guidance from the government to keep safe.
We look forward to welcoming our students back to the school site on Sunday 29 March 2026.
Please take care,
Kai Vacher,
Principal

We wish you and your family a peaceful and blessed month.
The daily routine in school will remain unaltered during Ramadan and all curriculum subjects, including music and PE, will continue as normal; however, we are sensitive to the fact that students who are fasting may become tired and dehydrated during the day, particularly during active lessons. If any of our fasting students are feeling unable to participate fully in their lessons they should speak to their teacher as soon as possible and they will be given the option to rest for part of the session.
During break times, students fasting will be allocated a space where they may go if they choose, they are also welcome to join their friends in their usual areas if they wish to.
If your child will be fasting during Ramadan, please let us know ASAP. It is vital that you let us know so we can ensure your child’s teachers and our School Nurses are aware. Please indicate in the survey if your child will be fasting for the whole-day/every-day during the holy month of Ramadan.
We are seeing a small increase in common seasonal illnesses such as vomiting and diarrhoea (D&V) and throat infections. This is quite normal when communities mix again after holidays. Please keep an eye out for symptoms such as fever, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, tummy pain, fatigue or reduced appetite. Most mild viral illnesses will settle with rest, fluids and time.
Please consider seeking advice from your GP if your child has:
A fever lasting more than 48 hours
Severe throat pain or difficulty swallowing
Vomiting or diarrhoea lasting longer than 24–48 hours
Signs of dehydration such as very little urine, dry mouth or unusual tiredness
Any symptoms that are worsening or causing concern
A reminder that if your child has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea, they should remain at home until 48 hours after the last episode before returning to school. This helps protect the wider school community. Thank you for your support in helping keep everyone healthy.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of one of our most vibrant traditions! Sign up by 17 March to host a cultural stall or perform at the BSM Cultural Fair, taking place on Thursday 26 March. Please note that all products sold at the Cultural Fair must be nut-free.
Not running a stall? Parents and friends are warmly invited to join the fun starting at 2pm. Entry will be via the bottom car park pedestrian gate only.
We are looking forward to seeing our community come together to celebrate the diverse cultures that make BSM so special. All funds raised will go to BSM’s chosen charities for this year.

After careful consideration, we have made the decision not to go ahead with our planned World Book Day dress-up day and parade on Thursday. However, the spirit of World Book Week continues; all planned reading activities and in-school sessions will proceed as scheduled. On Thursday, students should wear their usual school uniform.
This year’s Book Week theme is The Dark!
Throughout the week, children will explore stories and poems inspired by night-time, shadows, and nocturnal creatures.
To start our week (Sunday 1 March), everyone in Primary School will be invited to wear their pyjamas and bring their favourite bedtime read & teddy.
On World Book Day (Thursday 5 March) everyone is invited to dress up as a word linked to the dark or night, a nocturnal animal, or a character from a favourite night-time story.
Across the school, we will be reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson and The Dark by Lemony Snicket, along with other wonderful night-time books. It promises to be a magical week of reading, creativity, and imagination under the stars!
Our Iftar, which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, has been postponed. We felt it was not appropriate to hold the event given the current situation. Thank you for your understanding.

4 Feb 26We have noticed that some children have been feeling a little more tired recently and we wanted to gently highlight how important sleep is for learning, mood and wellbeing. Most primary-aged children benefit from around 9–11 hours of sleep each night, along with calm and consistent bedtime routines.
Tiredness can sometimes show up as headaches, tummy aches or lower energy during the school day. If parents ever wish to talk something through or have a gentle check-in, the Health Centre is always happy to help.
We will begin our Parent - Teacher meetings for students in Years 1 - 6 shortly. To view the dates available for you to meet your class teacher, please see your year group’s page of the Notices Sites. (EYFS parents have been contacted separately about their meetings). Please sign up for your 15 minute appointment via the Parent Portal as soon as possible. Sign up is open until Sunday 8 February.
If you have queries or need additional support, please contact the Primary Office.
