The week in Review

English

We have been learning about playscripts and have been learning a scene from a Midsummer Night’s Dream. We have focused on our expressions, gestures and voices. Next week, we will perform as a year group in our Key Stage Two assembly. We will perform this to parents too later this term!

Art

We learned about illuminated letters and began to create our own using the initial of our first names.

Maths

This week, we have started our Fractions (B) unit where we have been learning how to multiply fractions and mixed numbers by integers.

Humanities

This week, we created model villages based on our plans from last week. We used different colours of plasticine to create the sustainable villages.

Science

We conducted an investigation to see which materials were soluble!

Homework

The homework has been shared with the children in class; further information can be found on Google Classroom. Please ask your child to plan when they will complete their homework. They should ask their teachers if they need further support before the end of school on Wednesday.

Reading - Please read for 20 minutes per day and record this in your P.O. Please record the book title and page numbers and ask an adult to sign when they have either heard you read or have discussed your reading with you.
Spelling/English - Complete the sheet given to you by your class teacher.
Maths - This week you have tasks to complete on MyMaths

Absences

If your child is unwell, leaving early or coming late please complete the Absence Form and the class teacher will be informed.

Swimming Kit

Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:

Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.

Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.
